: What donors to look for?

I currently don't have a project. Recently sold my 71 Bronco and have my 96 on the chopping block. But, I know I'll build another Early Bronco again so I figure it's time to start looking for donor trucks. My idea of having the ultimate EB is as follows:

351W SEFI
NV4500 or ZF
4 speed Atlas
HP D60 f
Shaved Sterling 10.25 r or ???

I plan to have a Matkins Extreme frame shipped to me. I'd like to stretch the wheelbase a bit so, I'll have to do a custom 4 link suspension with Pro Comp coil over shocks. I can order the 351W crate motor.

What trucks should I start looking for for the ZF/HPD60f/Sterling 10.25r?

I want to run 40" BOGGERS on this rig. And, I want to make highway speeds (80 mph). Thinking 4.88s f/r with (hopefully) Detroit Electrac lockers f/r (if they have them for these applications).

This will be my dream rig. I want it done right the first time. Any ideas on where to start looking for parts etc. would be greatly appreciated.

You can get the motor, transmission (ZF) and rear end out of a early - mid 90's 3/4 ton pickup. You'll need a 1 ton to nab the front 60, I'm not sure that any of the 1 tons had a 351, I'm not sure I've run across one.

Forget a Matkins frame, build your own. no sense in spending that much coin, just to modify it.

I'm not a fan of the Boggers, I'd do TSL's or IROK's instead.

*my opinion* If this is your dream rig, get primo parts, look at Fox, King or SAW for the coilovers. Pro Comp scares me.

Do it once, do it right, and take your time to insure both.
