I might respond to your query to help you out, not just up my posts and throw :flipoff2: 's atcha.

I went to the local hydraulic shop and got a reducer fitting that fit the out port on the compressor then goes down to the standard size used most commonly on air tools. From there I ran a T w/ a quick release female air fitting on one part of the T and a 120psi pop off valve on the other.

The intake has a fancy chrome top and is just a ltiile air filter fo a go cart intake I think. Really small, but keeps the crud out.

The hardest part was finding a fitting the size of the "out" port, then reduces down to the standard air fitting size for the T etc.

Next I went to Wal Mart and they have a Campbell/Hausfield package w/all the fittings and tire filler etc. for $15. Buy a cheap ass air hose and you got on board air for under $30 .

I simply turn the stock a/c switch on and the compressor puts out enough pressure to fill my 36" swampies in a matter of minutes.:usa:

This is the OBA system I built for my Bronco
Bronco78 OBA (http://www.off-road.com/ford/bigbroncos/tech/ac_conv.html)

This is a pic of the OBA I built for the CJ we will be racing in the 2002 Australian Outback Challenge (http://www.northern4x4.com/events/OBC/OBC.htm)

I've also built OBA systems for my 78 FJ40, a CJ, F250, and a Scout

If ya have a question ask.

I couldn't give a fawk less about my post count.

I think you missed the point. SC posted an inquiry about a disc brake conversion. I helped him out there. Then he posted another one without really doing a search himself.

I was just doing him a favor by pointing him in the right direction.....

OFF HIS LAZY ASS!!!!! :D

I believe you missed the point. If you are on this page often, you'll notice that the Ford Forum is one of few remaining where a newbie can ask previously asked questions without getting railed by :rainbow: 's like you who just respond to bash him for not doing a search. Why respond if you are going to just tell him to do a search? Would it bother you that much if someone like me told him how to do it and his problem was solved?
The Ford Forum rules because for a long time it has been without people like you. I can't tell you how many times people have asked about wristed arms on here, but every time we see new info and ideas. It's good to ask questions about how to make your rig more capable off-road. Isn't that what this is for???
Keep your newbie bashing off here. The Ford forum is for people that want to make their Ford better for wheeling. It's not here to rag on folks cuz that don't search every topic they have an interest in. I don't mind giving "free info" because if it wasn't for free info that I've gotten I wouldn't have on board air myself.

Newbie bash elsewhere, we just like useful info and cool pics on this forum

easy to do on a EB, I mounted a Sanden compressor right over my alternator.
Got a tank from a big rig wrecking yard in West Sac for $20. Pressure switch, hose and fittings all came from Post Tool for about $40 and I was done.
Took about 4 hours to install including fabbing the brackets from scratch.
real easy. PM me if you want more info.

It's easy. Here it is on an EB http://www.greatnorthern.net/~fearme/tech/page1.html
After you mount the pump you can haule any piece of the outlet hose to a hydraulics shop and they can crimp on a barbed adapter to NPT. Then you can just pipe threaded fitting's for the rest of the install. Make sure you use a pop off (pressure relief) valve at the outlet of the compressor. They can put out a lot. Also don't forget a check valve if you use a tank. Otherwise the air will leak back out through the compressor. The one in the picture has been on there 4 years pumping this damp old NW air and is still working fine.

Yea, I probably missed the point. I dunno, Roger, aka Fear Me, or Fullsizes Rule, did I miss the point here? I seem to recall reading the rules regarding doing a search before asking general ??'s. I do concede SC is doing the mod himself without simply dropping it off at a shop.

edit..... Just asking for a rules clarification, not posting a complaint.

My response, both times, was in good humor also, unlike yours Stonyford. Either way, life goes on, and yea, this is a great forum. I'll do my best not to bastardize it.

Same edit.... I can't believe I initially wrote this post this without asking SF to read some other current threads, and find a sense of humor. :D

I have a fine sense of humor, somewhat twisted at times. I am just sick of the constant newbie bashing on this site. I find it a waste of time to go thru three responses of BS until some people (myself and 78Bronco) gave some useful info. I guess if other current threads are the same way as this one's going I may have lost my love for POR. :smokin:

To give an idea of something I find funny read the following:

In Mexico this past Spring Break my brother hooked up with a girl who gave him a hummer in the nearby sand dunes and swallered it down. Later that night another friend of mine and this same girl made out. He didn't know of her previous exploits until the next day when everyone else heard about it and began to make fun of him.

That shit is funny:cool:

OK...... I see your point, and you definitely have a sense of humor.
