I just replaced a fuel pump on a buds 4 banger yj yesterday cause it was stalling an a
mac told him that it was about to go, so after the install it starts up quicker and has
slightly better throttle respnce, but later in the day it stalled again about 5secs after
starting it, it did this a couple of times then than fine....
any help and ideas would be great, could it be something electrical? a ground of some
sort?

Sounds like fuel filter. What happens is there's crap in the tank that gets sucked up. Once it stalls, the pressure is relieved on the filter an all the crap drops off. You can start it back up but it will happen again. The reason it happens after you replace the filter is because there nomrally A LOT of crap in the tank and not just one filter can get it all. It happened to me. I changed my filter three times before it quit happening . . . but it quit. :D
