: Fuel Pump Wont Turn Off (Ford 5.0)

I have a Mustang 302 (5.0 HO) out of a Lincoln Mark VII and recently the fuel filter relay started dieing I would have to tap it or hit it to get it to work... anyway it finally died so I got a new one and hooked it up today.

Well now the fuel pump will NOT turn off after 5 seconds of turning the ignition on. I thought I had the wrong relay so I took apart the old one and fixed it (I think there's a bad capaciter or whatever it is in it, as I tapped that and it worked again) Anyway, the old relay caused the same thing to happen! The fuel pump wont turn off after the ignitionis turned on and will keep building pressure up in the lines.

What other things should I check as to why this is happening? I took some other electronic parts off but put them back-on and have run it since doing so, but maybe they are the problem? (Or maybe they need to be grounded better?)

What else should I look for? Eletronic wise? Could a ground cause the pump to stay on?

And does someone have a picture or wiring diagram of the fuel pump relay I want to make sure it's hooked/wired correctly.

Thanks
-Todd

So it worked today, very odd.

Everytime I turn ignition on it works now. (as in fuel pump relay turns on fuel pump and the noff in 3 seconds).
