Ok I bought a 33 foot long, 8 foot wide, triple axle trailer for 500 bucks today. I would like to be able to haul two toyotas so I thought I would cut it down to 25 feet long. All three axles are at the very back and I think they need to be moved forward to get the weight more on the three axles rather than on the rear end of the truck. How farward should I move the axles? I was thinking from half way back so that the tires of the first axle are at the halfway point and continue the other two behind it? Anyone know what california hyway patrol laws are for triple axle trailers? Is there a number I can call to see what needs to be done to it to liscense it? Also wondering what kind of wood is best to use for the deck as it doesn't have any right now. Thanks

60% of trailer not counting the toungue in front of center axle is a good starting point.

I was told to put the center of axles 1" to rear per 1 foot of deck length. seems to work for me

What are the axles rated for, 7K 10K pounds? Do you really need a third axle? As far as flooring goes, I always put rough cut oak in ours, usually pay about 30 to 40 cents per board feet. We're pretty rough on ours, a floor usually last 3-5 years.

Axles are rated at 10K so no I don't Need a third axle but might as well keep it there to have more weight on the actual trailer and not on the truck springs. Are there disadvantages to having 3 axles as opposed to two? Thanks
