Go to:

and scroll down to the last pic. It was a bear to make. If I had to do it again, I would of spent the $110 and bought the AA.

Can you use a stock GM bottom mount as a starting point?

I am in the process of this b**************tch now. I have gone from auto, SM420, SM420 adapter #2 with tcase clocked up. So my supports are all over the place. The AA one is clocked wrong for the SM420 plate adapters.

I have the loose materials fabbed up now.

-1/2" flat back plate with no center hole (not needed)
-2" square tube for cross member.
-jeep shacckle hangers
-3" tube to mount jeep spring hangers

I am going to investigate using an horizontal bolt through a shackle hanger to allow for frame flex. I am tired of loosened adapter plates.

I will post my junk so you guys can rip it apart :smokin:

I need to get done for GSMTR.

Thanks for all the info. I was planning to build somethig that starts out mounting to the adaptor between the 700r4 and the 203,nice flat mounting point. Then just use some box steel with a couple of bushings. Maybe this is to simple. As for the 203 adaptor I got it from Mudrack. OKS good and is only 2 iches thick. Later

How about these?

The center sections are the stock GM mounts found in '70s and '80s 4WD pcikups. In my junk, the first mounts to the adapter between the SM465 and the NP203 and the second mounts to the adapter between the 203 and an NP205.

HTH,

Nice rig. I like your radiator/elec fan set -up. Which model Flex-a-lite is that? How does it hold up in that Texas heat? Thanxs.

missingmy84toy - I do not know how long it is, I just eye balled it. If I had to do it over again, I would probably just buy the xover from AA for $112. It took me 4 hours to build that because of the angles.

medusa - you do some fine work!!!:smokin:

thanks complaine. I have not had it out yet. I have working on it for about a year and a half. time/$$$ thing.:( I start it up every month and when the fans kick on the temp guage goes from 220 to 190 in about 10 secs. My temp sensor is in the driver side head. The fans are model 220 and they throw 2500 cfm.

Later...

Looks good Jack, but it looks like it would be a bitch to get the tranny\transfer out for Maintenance without taking off the tub first:D

I figure you have a plan for this?

Maintenance, What is that?:D :D Actually the "box" on the truggy will only be about 30" wide and 40" long. It will be easy to remove, and with the box gone, the gear boxes can come straight back and out.:smokin:
