I have a 1978 F-150 4x4 truck with a 460 and C6 tranny with the NP205 transfer case. I want to swap out the auto tranny for a 4-speed like the
T-18 or NP435. I was wondering if anybody has any tips on what I need and how to do it.

Well, I've never done this but I have a few 70s trucks with standards in them. I don't think it'd be too hard, you'll need a big block bell housing for your tranny. I'd try to find one in a scrap yard or an old truck someplace that is a standard and just start stealing parts. Your truck should have all the places for stuff to bolt to for the clutch etc... so long as you don't mind the manual clutches of course.
