What axles came in a 72 Chevy 1T dually 4wd, could it be a D60 in front ? I found one for $500 OBO, asking price. It has a 350 and a 4spd. What tranny also.

Odds are pretty high it is an eaton rear end (72 is the last year I think). Also, you are in the range where you could get them with factory detroits so see if it has one.

Snatch that baby up! 'Round here it's worth tripple that in parts alone.
I know guys who cruise around in the winter looking for 4x4's with snow on them just to go ask the owner if he wants to sell.
They say just about any full size 4x4 is worth $1500 in parts.

So a 44 front, eaton rear, 465 tranny and what about the t-case ? I have not looked at it yet and was wondering if it was worth going to look at. I was hoping it had a 60 in the front.

I not totally sure but if it has a 60 it's probably a closed knuckle one...I seem to recall that the open knuckle ones came out some where in the mid to late 70's...but don't hold me to any of this info, I've only had one cup of joe and my brain is not working yet:rasta:

last year for the closed knuckle was 1970
i'm not even sure that they made 1 ton 4x4s from 67-72...
but if they did, it had a d44

1977 was the first year for the d60

I called the guy and I know he would take less :D He also said it had a new clutch but the motor smoked and would need to be rebuilt ( 350 4bolt main ). He also told me about the rear and it's an eaton because he said it had a drop out like a 9" and when I asked about a posi he wasn't sure but it may becase it clicks when you go around a corner. It got a flat bed in need of new wood, needs new brake lines. I may go look at it tommorrow and see if it's worth buying.

I have seen 1 ton 1972 chevy trucks. I think they made 1 ton 4x4's also. I have also seen 1 ton duallys. No 4x4 duallys were made. My friends 2-wd 1972 3/4 ton has a factory dana 60 in the rear. Not sure what was in the 4x4's.
