If I need a permit can I get it from the county I am from or does it have to be from there? Or go online (Eldorado National Forest web site) and read the latest FIRE RESTRICTIONS. usually, propane is fine. But always check first. Del Dan-H 09-13-2006, 10:19 PM Yes you need a permit, a campfire permit which you can get many places. http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/passes/campfire.html At this time there are no wood or charcoal fires. Several other things are also prohibited right now, but with a campfire permit you can use gas of propane stoves and heaters as long as the stage restriction allow for it. binderbasher 09-13-2006, 10:19 PM Just checked there site, looks like you can still use propane, lanterns ect, with a valid forest service permit.
