Anyone know how wide the door opening is? I cut out my entire rear tub and maybe the door pillars deformed, let is sit for a couple of months with the rear hardtop rails unsupported.

I just measured my 66 and it is 32 1/2 " from the front of the opening to the mounting surface of the striker plate.

I'm fawked, measured from the mounting surface to the striker plate, passenger side was 825 mm wich is approx. 32 1/2", but driver side was 835mm that means it's off 0.3 inch. And because of that the door can't close anymore.

Any ideas how to straigthen the door pillar? As you can see in the pic, all the sheetmetal in the rear is removed.

I used a BFH to straighen mine. (a big F*ckin hammer) They went where they were supposed to be right away. If you have problems with the door, just get strikerplates from a old toyota(80's) station wagon, like a corolla. They have a little longer staple and work better as the doors wear out...

Have tougth about a striker plate with a larger staple or making the holes in the door hinges bigger, but since it's my daily driver and it rains 250 days a year over here in Belgium I would like to have it waterproof, so I guess it should be approximately the stock width for the door rubber be able to seal.

I'll try the BFH technique tomorrow, I'll let you know how it worked out.
