Looking for a wiring diagram and parts list.

I assume you mean to charge both even during isolation right?

If so I wanna know too, I can show you how to isolate them but then the aux bat. is only being charged while they are linked.

I want them to be isolated and both charge. I want a switch that will run battery 1, 2 or both at the same time. I want to be able to run 1 battery dead and then still have battery 2 as a backup to start up:) and being able to run both is an added bonus but not nessary to me that much.

Here is a schematic that I stole:D I would like to thank (Insert name here) for creating this...

Anyway, is this sorta what you are looking for?

I personally am looking for something that will meter the chargeing automatically without intervention.

From the looks of that schematic you would have to toggle which battery is charging on and off and during charging they are linked.

seabass ...
I might have something (kinda)like what you want.... BUT it is in the middle on the pacific ocean..( on a barge going to hi... but fun to say all your stuff is in the middle of the pacific ocean...) anyway it is a car sterio type unit... auto.. no switching.. but one batery IS always full cuts the otherone off when one will no longer turn on the truck....

ALSO bad ass doors.. got them last WEDs.....

I guess there are quite a few OE setups out there, that might be worth looking into.

My simple manual setup will do ll you want except charge both while they are isolated.

It has the distinct advantages of being

1) cheap and easy
2) fully manual switching - never did understand having electrically activated solenoids switching the electrical system
3) operates as emergency cut-off of all power (crash / rollover)
4) added theft deterent
5) No voltage drop across a diode

disadvantage (for some)

1) Fawkin huge switch to mount.

SeaBass,

Mean Green makes one, but the best one i have found is made by HellRoaring. I think its www.hellroaring.com. If memory serves me right it does all you listed and more for like $125

Your site seems to be down right now.......is your set up just a big marine type switch or do you also have the isolator thing as well? I remember looking at your page before, but am not certain.
thanks.

Cheap battery isolater from Pepgirls. Think it's like $40. That handles your charging. There is a dual battery switch that lets you chose either battery or turn both off or gang them together. They use these a lot on boats and Ambulances and fire engines. That's the way I'm going to do mine. Solonoids don't like wet. this is fool proof. Good marine suply place should be able to get you the switch. I had a link to a online place but it's on my home machine. I'll try to post it later.
