I need a qualified person to look at the clutch on the S1.

It'll take a little bit of 'dedicated' time, and I want to make sure that I don't feel like I'm mooching off of someone.

I don't want it to turn into an all-day tech session, but an hour to look at it and diagnose would be super. Give me some ideas on what to do and how to fix it, etc...

I'd tell you guys all about it here and have you E-diagnose it, but that never works.

Maybe I'll coerce the builder to come help ya. TC

Or for 65 n hr you can rent me. I'll even wear official LR tech jumpsuit. If you provide it of course. Did I mention paid smoke breaks.

Seriously Mike you know many of us would love to help. Why be the marter here? Parking lot time is timeless.

JP

Do I have parts I need to bring out to you?

Parts? No, unless after looking at the clutch slave cyl., you decide I need to use a different style. I have a LandCruiser one in there now, and I'm not getting the clutch to release completely.

I'm thinking it's an adjustment, but whenever I think I have a simple answer, it's never that simple.

This is why I want someone who *knows* to take a look at it.

Thanks for the offers. Clutch smoke provided free.

You are running the SM465 tranny in the S-1?
They made a number of different release forks both for mechanical linkage and hydraulic.
If you have the wrong one, you wont be able to get enough throw to fully release the clutch.

For the slave I ended up going with a Wilwood pull style. Has a bit more movement in it then the stock series type.

LT-95.

The SM465 is in the CrewCab. I can hardly keep it all straight in my mind too. :(

AA did send brackets & hoses to use Toy bits with the LT95 ... yes, all those bits of mine are down at Pendy's ... actually there are two slightly different sets of clutch bits for a Chev / LT95 at Jimmy's place I think ?

It could end up the pushrod is to long. I have changed the stroke of stock pushrods for problematic clutch engagement. Usually lengthen though not shorten. If you got the AA stuff it should be adjustable. Prolly an easy fix.

Clutch fork needs grinding down for full release (hands on experience)
unbolt trans and move it back 2 inches to access the fork.

Mike call Mathew he has done it a few times now!

The flywheel, pressure plate and bellhousing are Chevrolet. Is the clutch disc Chevrolet or Rover?
