: Tellico Pics
Here are a few pics from our Good Friday Tellico ride. My buddy took these with a disposable camera, and most of 'em were too blurry to scan.
This is me on Trail #11, a.k.a. Helicopter Pad....

Bill Collins 04-28-2002, 05:44 PM looks fun and could be hard if it rained:D
Sarcastro 04-28-2002, 11:38 PM CSR, I heard that there are some parts of the year that Zukis cannot make it through tellico, True?
Root Moose 04-29-2002, 06:38 AM Hey, did you see Mudlite (John Farley) down there? He was there this weekend. The guy with the bus that has the back lopped off it to carry a smurf blue sam on 38" tires - that'd be him.

It's all relative - there are places that even in the dryest of conditions, a stock Samurai couldn't make it. It all depends on how you're equipped. SPOA, at least 31's and a rear locker and you can go a lot of places, but not all....;) (Even less in the rain)

Thanks Oil, but maybe I should be a bit more specific,
I heard from a freind of mine that only rigs with v-8 power, 44 in tires and larger than 100" wheelbase can make through tellico in durning certain times of the year, ( I think that this would be some sort of rainy season:D ) I told him that I thought that he was wrong, but I do know that there are certain things, like mud, that tend to put a dampner on our types of rigs...
0ILBURNER 04-29-2002, 10:03 AM You can still go almost anywhere at Tellico in the rain with a well-equipped Samurai. You probably wouldn't make some of the tougher climbs when it's slick, tho;)
It's very entertaining to see the high-horsepower guys thrash their trucks trying to tackle Tellico in the wet:rasta:
i don't care too much for jeeps, but i like that yj

If I had a choice between a YJ and TJ I'd take the YJ.
I don't like the :rainbow: interior in the TJ. Nice truck otherwise.

Hobsdaddy 04-29-2002, 02:06 PM Jason's YJ is a bad son of a bitch. I seriously nutted in my pants when I saw him take that line on Pinch Rock. Chris, I was riding with Paul the dude with the white FJ-40...your zuk works nice...gearing seems almost perfect.
Tellico is hard for any vehicle when its wet, but a longer wheelbase and V8 is almost mandatory for most of the obsticles when its raining (As with any tuff East coast trails).
Chris, If you havent been to Gardendale (Mt. Olive), Alabama, yet you need to come check it out. Definitely comparable to your bad ass Tennessee trails and worth the trip.

I think Chris knows Hal pretty good so he can give him a hollar if yall want to come down...if not hit upCAOS (http://www.caos4x4.com) and give them a email. Brent, the president, is a really nice guy and they go riding in G'dale all the time.

Not true. OILBURNER and I have 'wheeled all over Tellico year 'round..... once in March with several inches of snow on the ground.
Before our last trip, I would have said "I wouldn't attempt Slickrock (notorious for rolling vehicles) unless it was completely dry". But four of us made it with no problems at all in the pouring rain. ;) A built 4Runner, the cool YJ, my Zuk and Paul's 'cruiser.
Now that my Zuk is all beat up, there's nothing I wouldn't attempt at Tellico! :D
Hobsdaddy 04-30-2002, 07:59 AM yes the old Red Monkey himself....
Chris...since slickrock was so easy in the rain...why dont you try the middle in the rain next time??? :) just playing with you...
Give me a email if yall come down...maybe my 4runner will be finished by then.
TNToy 04-30-2002, 08:35 AM I wanna come play too... :rasta:
Tim, you need to buy a trailer that'll haul two rigs. ;) Maybe a flatbed for the powerstroke long enough to hold the Zuk, so you can put someone uh... else's rig on the trailer? :D
Toolmaster 04-30-2002, 10:30 AM Tim and Chris ! Yawl know all you have to do is give me a call. Got lots of room and  . Just give me a call. Hope to have the new diffs hear this week :flipoff2:

If ya had a 'Zook I might be able to round up a trailer to haul 2, but your 'Runna has got to be a couple feet longer;)
Besides, what would you do when you went up there and mangled your daily driver?:rasta:
