Finally took some pictures of the steering system on my Jeep. All done except for welding the ram brackets in place and getting hoses.

Here's the overview:

No bump steer, even though it looks like there may be a problem with different angles. I think the different lengths of the trackbar and draglink even things out. Tie rod and drag link are both 1.25" solid 'stressproof' tube. The TREs are all Chevy one ton, and the knuckles are Wagoneer. The steering arm came from BenW here on POR, as did the links. Great work, great prices.

You can see that I had to relocate the sway bar bracket higher to clear the tie rod. The open bracket above the tie rod is for the stock stabilizer. I will mount the ram there.

The clearance is good, but I needed to grind just a small area off the frame bracket for the steering box - you can see where it rubs for full-stop left turns. I think it only does because of the twisting of the TRE. It won't be much, and I can reinforce that bracket if I think it needs it. For now, it's fine.

I didn't need to move the swaybar bracket, but I did have to 'clearance' it just a bit.

Looks good Paul. Looks like you made a new track bar mount but didn't end up using it. Stock location work better for some reason?

Thanks! Is this what you were referring to? :flipoff2:

Did you need to ream out the holes in the Waggy knuckles for the 1ton TRE's? what's the part # for the tie rod TRE's?

Is that RE bracket kit?

What's the width and BS on the wheels?

I like the tow tabs(?) on the bumper...nice.

Nice tow bar eyes. Might as well just cut them off.

Looks good paul!

When you turn the wheel with the jeep sitting still does the body roll to one side?

The Waggy knuckles are already tapered for the Chevy ends. Part numbers - Tie rod ends: ES2234R, ES2010L; Drag link ends: ES2026R, ES2027L.

RE bracket kit. Wheels are Champion 15x10 with 3.75" BS.

The tow tabs - long night in the Sluice the weekend of Clean Up, and no time to cut them off since. Something about living in Tahoe and skiing for the winter put them at the bottom of the to-do list. :D:flipoff2:

Yes, Warn shafts and CTM joints. Winter in Tahoe. And of course CroMo can rust. Just a light surface coating though.

CJ - I DO get a little more body roll than I did, but only when I turn to the left. Why? What do you think it is?
