Today I pulled my 92 RRC into the driveway. It's a slight angle. I went out a little later and it had moved 20 ft back down the driveway. I checked to make sure I had put the tranny in park. It was. So I pushed on the front bumper and was able to move it. Is this common? Is it a major problem? Has anyone else had this happen to them? It doesn't roll w/o a bunch of effort but it shouldn't move at all in park.

sounds bad to me bro. what about slippage when you are driving it? i don't know enough about autos but it also could be your viscous coupler? the one in your tcase??
i don't know what vintage rrcs came with a vc. my disco 1 has an lt230, no viscous coupler.

None that I can tell. I haven't driven it much in the last few weeks. Seems to be ok. I guess only time will tell. I don't mind tearing all that stuff apart now, I have a spare car:shaking:

Sounds like you broke something. Try using the parking brake.

Does your nuetral line up in the shift gate. Sounds like you could adjust the shifter selector to correct this if its not lining up.
It adjusts at the threaded end where it connects to the transmission. Locknut and choke up on it, more then likely.
