Just got home. Had a good time, but a frustrating time as well. The Jeep had a few problems, and we broke on the very first obstacle on the first day. Got it fixed, and delt with a few other mechanical problems over the weekend, and ended up in 7th. Kathy did a great job driving.

A HUGE congrats to Jeff Mello for kicking everyones asses this weekend. He DESERVES IT. Chris Geiger did a hell of a job spotting for Walker Evans this weekend, having an almost perfect score on day one. What happend on day two, Chris?

Well it camed down to greed. Looking at the info we had at the time, it seemed we could finish in the top 3 if we did a clean run of the last section. It just so happens that the day before the event Walker and I did this very same obstical, and did it easily. But on the day of the event a little right hook turn was added to the top of the run. We knew we were not going to have problems like so many others on the lower section and we went right up just as we had done in our prerun. The problem was when we turned right and tried to hook around, it just did not work right and Walker's truck was on it's side. After thinking about it I unpinned the rear steer and Walker turned the rear wheels into the rock to act as an ancor. The truck drove up and over. We finished with only 3 seconds to spair. With 1 stop, 3 backups, and 2 rear steer, we had a total of 11 points for just that section. Our total point penitaly for the other 6 sections was only 2 points. So the reality is we crashed and burned on the last run. We should have used the rear steer before we had any problems.

That sucks. I think the courses were too easy. Are you guys going to Oklahoma?

No we are not planning to go, just too far, and too much time off work needed to make it.
