Just got done rebuilding the M8000 (what they called 8274s before 1974) and it was easy as pie just as everyone said. My only problem was one of the bearings had siezed so I cleaned and repacked it.
But I ran into one problem. Two of the wires (maybe field coil wires is the right term) in the motor have broken. The are square copper that has that red coating on it. Where can I find suitable wire to patch them?
Thanks

try the local warn dealer. Or you could just run a wire of similar or heavier gauge and that should work.

Its actually in the armature.
It sits in these channels. so it needs to be square and coated.
warn is of no help other than selling me a new motor.
I am thinking about getting a junkyard starter for the wire but I would prefer new. I only need like two 6in peices.
