jd2 sells a kit to use a porta power typr ram, has anyone built their own setup like this, using a porta-power style device?

Yep....works fine...except you have to pump it about a zillion times to get 90º bend!

Air/Hyd pump coming soon!

Is that all? Just a zillion? whew.. I thought it was going to take a lot. :D

I haven't used mine yet, but...

JD2 Model 3 with the JD2 hydro mounting kit, and a cheap 10T Porta-Power RAM.. required a custom adapter to go from the "male" attachment on the ram to the bender..

I don't have much else to show - just some pics of the cart I built for it n' such.

I mounted the JD2 to a piece of 2x2x.250 square tubing that slides into a receiver hitch on my shop cart so I can slide the bender in to use it, or put it away in the corner, or even set it in a truck's receiver to use it somewhere else.

The adapter was just a piece of 1.25" Sch40 with a hole cut through it, then slotted.

I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but it should work fine.

ScoutDude - does your PortaPower have the threaded fitting to take the JD2 Hydro adapter as-is? Or did you end up making something like this?

Mine came with a threaded end and a yoke to go with it...it better have for the price:eek:

Although, my 14" ram was cheaper from JD2 than anywhere else
