I bought a 9" with D30 outers about 5yrs. ago, realizing now the mistake in this. The D30 knuckles are off of a newer yj. Now I have gone SOA and want to go to a high steer set-up. I checked the MORE kit and it only moves the Drag Link. I called a Avalanche and they said that late model 44 knuckles would fit, but everyone tells me that they are not flat top, so what good would they do me. I am going to call southern off-road, and XTV today and see what they say. Would any one have any ideas on what to do. This jeep is not street driven and willing to try quite a bit, but dont want to spend the xtra money to change the knuckles and axles. Also the jeep has nat'l springs (13leafs) so the rods need to go pretty high. Any info. would help Thanks

You need to get some early 30 or reg 44 (better) inner c's and replace the inner from your hybrid - the 30 inner c's may fit your tubes (you didn't list a tube diam) or if it is 3" you can just use some 44 inners c's - the expensive part is that if you intend to keep you inner axle shafts you will either need to add 1.25" to each side of the axle tubes or take 1.25" out of each inner axle shaft... making a custom length so I would find a way to add the length or buy alloy custom length shafts...
Once you do this you will sail off into hi-steer land with no problems :flipoff2:

Try a search. I just ordered a high steer designed for the D 30 for my 9" with 30 knuckles from Down east offroad. Talk to Rob at

this page has a couple of pics. http://www.downeastoffroad.com/mainpage.htm

Before I did either one those suggestions I would look into 60 yokes.
You could also get knuckles from a WJ they will bolt on but the brakes have issues.
You need a north american passenger's side and a european driver's side. The WJ has the draglink connect atop the knuckle and a crossover tie rod so if you have both knuckles you can run a crossover tierod from one draglink mount to the other, hence hi-steer.

A set of 60 knuckles would be cool, but i just ordered a set of avalanche beadlocks (still not here after 6wks), and so i need to keep the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. What is a WJ, this is something I have never heard of, approx. what year would I keep my eyes open for, and any suggestions on where to search.
I called the guys at down east offroad, they said they were a month out on new high steer knuckles for a YJ and that their TJ kits knuckles were a little too low for SOA. I am only afraid that I might wait a month only to find out that they still havent started on the new knuckles.
Also is there any way that I could get a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern with 44 or 60 knuckles.
Thanks for all the help!
