can anyone give me an idea of what axles were used in a 1983 chevy 1 ton with a 6.2l diesel chevy 4x4

Dana 60 front and 14 bolt if SRW, Dana 60 front and a Dana 70 rear if a DRW.

its an srw ...the guy wants 900 for the rig and it has a 10 foot flatbed on it ... wasnt sure about the axles ... doing a jeep build and cant use that 6.2.... might be able to sell the bed to recoop some cash thanks again

make sure someone else hasn't already swiped the 60 front. it's kinda a common thing to do...swipe the 60 and replace it w/ a 44 and resell. easiest way to tell if it's a 60 is the 4 bolts holding the kingpins down on top of each knuckle.
