: Tubed rockers and rear fenders
H8monday 04-29-2002, 10:55 AM Well I was able to complete my tubed rocker panels and rear fenders, in time to take the rig out and test everything out at Moonrocks this weekend.
The tube work at the fenders and rockers tie in completely to the cage, and will eventually tie into the seat brackets, and supports.
The rockers though worked awsome, you basicly cant even tell they are there anymore, due there hieghts and angle it nearly impossible to get hung up on them.
I ended rolling the Jeep nose down and sideways in a 360 degree roll, on Sunday, and nearly no damage was sustaines tothe system.
Herae are a few pics

It seems that when it comes to CalRocks H8MONDAY and rollover go hand in hand. :flipoff2:
How did you go end over with 105" wheelbase?
Where did you do it at?
Got pics?

No pics, I only had the rig off of the trailer for about 5 minutes.
We were headed over to where a few other rigs were playing around. My new spotter (Dan Bogus), says "well lets see just how stable this rig is", so he drops me into a driver side down hill turn that drops off about 4 feet, then has me turn hard left, to try and clear a rock, raising my passenger side front tire. I said, "we are at the the limit" "its gonna go over,", he said well this is as good aplace as any to roll it over, anbd see how everything holds up. I agreed and continued moving forward to it unloaded, then tried to gas out of it,(but the rock on the passenger side just forced it over faster). I rolled all the way back onto my tire, but the fuel pump sucked a piece of debris and woulnt start pumping again untill I removed it and reinstalled it.
Kathy was walking towards us with the camera, but didnt make it in time to shoot any pics. It drew a crowd, but we were back wheelin within a few minutes.
Oh it was at moon rocks.
Here is a pic
hubeid 04-29-2002, 02:05 PM :D :D Great job Jeff! That looks fawsome. You've given me some more ideas for rocker protection. I don't plan on competing with my Jeep, but I really like how your 'sensible' mods have turned out..... Bret

FULLSIZE 04-29-2002, 08:11 PM my brother was right there when you rolled, hehe. he gave it a 9.5 (for going all the way back onto your wheels). i think all that protection is lame. how the hell are you supposed to get any dents? :flipoff2: looks pretty damn H8 proof.
SanDiegoCJ 04-30-2002, 10:58 AM Lookin good Jeff. Sure looks different from the Dusy trip.:D:D
Blatant 04-30-2002, 11:12 AM Jeff: As always, your shit looks great.
Request: I'd like to see a better angle of how your fender tubes attach to the radiator support hoop in front and where they go in the rear.

What's next? :D
T&A-XJ 06-07-2005, 10:47 PM So, why not build a kicker tube angled upward mounted to the top of the 'boatsides'?
Ive been thinking of this for my XJ but too many projects to finish 1st. Seems like the best of both worlds????...No?
The Rockslut 06-07-2005, 10:54 PM So, why not
Because this is a 3 year old thread. Let it rest in peace.
