I didn't know GM made a 4wd camaro:p

Turn on the key and hit the bottom of the fuel tank with a rubber mallet and see if you hear the pump start humming. If so, replace the pump with a factory part

Probably your fuel pump (http://www.partstrain.com/ShopByDepartment/Fuel_Pump) relay is causing that if its ok then it could be the ecm fuse. Also inspect actual fuel pressure and the crankshaft position sensor/wiring.

Fuel pump. Tell him not to run it out of gas again. That is how he killed it.

fuse first, i dont know if they have a reset button on the ecm its self.

they will blow the fuse to keep it from burning out after it runs dry.

Running the tank out of fuel can clog the fuel filter with sludge as well. Just another place to look.

the best way to know if its the fuel pump or anything related to the fuel pump is to pour a little gas in the carb/fuel injection and turn it over....if it runs for a couple seconds start checking your relays and fuses...and be prepaired to drop the fuel tank
