Yeah I searched and I should know this but I can't find it anywhere.

Is there a difference in rear D60's that would change how a disk brake conversion would bolt up?

I bought a kit and now am not sure if it's going to fit. I just assumed that all rear D60 full floaters were the same. :(

Thanks!

not that i have any experience but i called the TSm guy a few years back and asked him that question and he said the Ford d60 is different than a jeep or other D60 in the way the brakes bolt up. so in a nutshell ... yes, there is a difference.

Thanks. To add to that for anyone out there. Is there a number or feature of the Ford D60 that I can look for to tell what I have?

Check the BOM on the axle and see what you get...

The short answer is YES - they are different. Ford, Chevy, Jeep J20 - all different and require diferent bracket setups (even if only slight differences)

Well the BOM on mine is 60371620. No match. It is REAL close to a 1979 F250 FF at least the first 4 numbers are the same.

I found this out the hard way.

I was running a FF D60 with 2" drums. Turns out it was from a 2wd 73?-76 F250. The kicker is that the application was different when it had single piston front calipers. Which was what mine came out of.

So the brackets from TSM didn't fit.

Found another D60 rear from a 79 4wd vehicle for $50 and it worked.

So if you can, find out what your axle came out of!!!
