Looking for info on gear reduction for Dana 20
Have been told Dana 30 parts will fit to give reduction.
Any ideas or links ?
Thanks

Sorry about that,
I am looking to lower the gearing on a Dana 20 transfer. I have been told you can use parts from a Dana 30 transfer or some other type of box.

I'm a newbie, but I think I might be able to help a little bit. You can get slightly lower gears in a dana 20 transfer case (2.46 instead of 2.03) by swapping in dana 18 gears, but I think you also need a gear out of a bronco dana 20 case...
Also, teraflex makes a set of teralow gears that drop the ratio to 3.15:1.... but I'm just a newbie, so this could all be wrong:D

Truckster I to am a newbie, but you are right on the money. I have done that to a 20 t-case and I liked it. You need the front sliding gear from a bronco 20, the rest of the gears come frome a dana 18. It was a noticable amount lower.:) :)

wild horses sells 4.86 gears for a dana 20 transfer case but it is pretty pricy and who knows if it is more likely to :nuke:

How much are they asking for the gear reduction?
