does anyone have a link or a good way of explaining how the 203 case differenetation unit works ?

reason i want to know is because yesterday i noticed that my front driveshaft was not spinning as i was driving the truck

it was in Hi, but not Hi lock and the right hand hub was disengaged because i had forgotten to re-engage it after i replaced a u joint in the drive shaft

so i re-engaged the hub and then the driveshaft was turning like it was supposed to at all times

i thought 203 cases always drove both the front and rear at all times ?

how would having a hub disengaged have anything to do with the case driving ir not driving the front output ?

im confused ?

thanks for anything

Sounds like you have a part time kit.

Put the truck in park or in gear without the engine running.
Unlock your hubs.
Put the t-case in Hi Unlocked
If the drive shaft can be turned by hand then it has a part time kit in it.

it wasnt spinning because the unlocked hub was allowing all of the drive from the other wheel too be put in to the free axle, the free axle shaft had less drag than the drive shaft. and yes if you have a 203 tcase with locking hubs it has or better have a part time kit.
