I am rebuilding and twinsticking my gm np205 and was following a technical article from offroad-tech.com about how to grind the shift rails.

http://www.offroad-tech.com/tech/twinstick205/

that one ^

and i followed the directions but i am curious... for those of you who have done this before.... I think I am about 1 millimeter short of his measurements in my grinding so far.... (didn't wanna take off too much all at once) but I am pretty close to his measurements and i used a template so my angles are exactly the same as stock....

would it be better to leave a little too much metal or take a little too much off? should i keep grinding until I know I am a little over his measurements? need some advice please!

thanks,
Beau

well i think I have it figured out... I called northwestfabrications and he helped me alot! Good company yall if you need help... he told me how to determine if the machining turned out right by using just the shift rails and the holder pins in the case while the rest of the gears are out of the case. so nevermind about my earlier question.

wish me luck... i think I am gonna have it figured out tonight
