Hey all,

This is my first cage project, its an ~exo on my 1/2 cab zuke. The front cage is mostly integrated and will not be visable with the fenders on and hood down. All tubing is 1.5" .120 and smaller corner braces are 1" .120

These are the following things i know i will be adding for sure
- Overhead bars in ? configuration IDEAS? X ? square design?
- Cross support(s) on main hoop. ideas?
- Tube from main hoop horizontal (2/3s up) downwards/forwards inside cab along outter edge of seat passing through floor connecting to front slider tie in tube.

In pirate fashion lets hear it good/bad/ugly...

Here are the pics...

Looking good the only thing I would suggest is some cross bracing behind the cab. Here's what mine looks like before the paint job

Like the way you used the tailgate to close the cab. What sort of roof are you going to use?

Front is not going to be EXO???? Why Not??? I would kinda think you would want 100% exo........ Other then that it looks really freaking good. What thickness of tubing are you using?

as for additions Maybe a single or double bar over the roof. I dont think you really have enough room to put one through the cab, might end up knocking your elbows or knees more then it is freaking worth....... Back side is a good design maybe a small X in the center of the 2 down bars....... Also I would think about putting some Gussetts at most of the corners and bends.... Those little pieces of metel really help keep that tubing toghether and strong...

Just my .02 take it or leave it, and no I dont want no dam change

Thanks for the input.

So far i need to add.....

1) cross bracing on main tube ("B" piller) was planning on it...
2) over head bars ---> need some input "X" or "H" type design? IDEAS?
3) gussets
4) rear bed will have sheet matal for sure ! The bar you see will be the top rail with the lower bed placed after i drop in the gas tank.
5) side bars will be tight but will have some padding, if they are in the way they WILL be removed or modified.....
6)....

I didn't want to go full exo around the front. Kinda keep it tame looking so i can drive it on road when feel like it. Plus the fenders are designed to be removable in about 5 min. Plus when the body falls off in a few years ill be that much closer to a full on buggy :-)

- Top will use stock bikini top and ill take part of an old top to use as a rear curtain with a small piece of lexan in it for the back.

- Ya the 32s tsl-rads look small on it with out the bed area being lower. I have plans to run some type of 35 after this things gets broken in a bit. Plus its not at ride height, jack stands have it up +3"

keep the advice coming ! Im taking notes.
