my 70's fj40 has very rusty brake lines, i understand that the 9mm fittings are no long available.
i need to put in new lines and change out fittings and junctions. has anyone ever swapped em out with a newer model toyota or another make using metric 10mm fittings. looks easy enough, h/ever i am having problems finding junctions for the 10mm fittings at my local parts store. any info will be greatly appreciated.

when i changed my brake lines because i put all new hard line and steel braided lines i just changed everything over to non metric sizes because they were easy to find @ parts stores. only use the metric ones where you have to. I believe i may have some metric ones left over if you need them.

how did u attach standard brake fitting to the actual brakes ?
doesn't the drum connection have a metric connection ?
i hv not made it that far in my brake inspection, but from the diagrams it appears that i will have to use metric at that connection point.

This would be a good time for the mini disc brake conversion :). Go to a tubing/fitting supply house and get standard brake line with metric fittings. Swap to a later model master cylinder. Route new lines using a tube cutter and double flare tool as needed.

You can also get tons of metric fittings from junk yard toyotas, and just buy some bulk brake line.
