I have a 77 chevy with the SM 465 and NP 205. Both shift knobs feel loose. Can I simply replace the bearings or do I have to get them both rebuilt to fix this? The transmission seems pretty solid other than that, as well as the transfer case. They haven't popped out of gear and are easy to put in gear, they just feel loose when they are in. Thanks for any input.

I took some poly spring bushings and cut them down & used them for washers/spacers to "tighten" them from rattling:D

How do I do that? I haven't taken it apart yet. You think this might cure the loose shifters? Thanks
