Subject: URGENT NEED FOR SUPPORT

TO EVERYONE:

SOME OF YOU MAY HAVE RECIEVED PHONE CALLS FROM US TODAY ASKING FOR
YOUR SUPPORT IN THE WAY OF LETTERS TO BE EMAILED OR FAXED TO
SUPERVISOR BILL POSTMUS OF 1ST DISTRICT SAN BERARNDINO. IF YOU HAVE
DONE THAT ALREADY WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT. IF THOSE OF
YOU ARE RECIEVEING THIS REQUEST FOR THE FIRST TIME WE WILL GIVE SOME
DETAIL TO YOU.

TODAY THERE WAS AN ARTICLE IN THE DAILY PRESS THAT WE FEEL WAS
CRITICAL OF OUR SUPERVISOR WITH FALSELY ACCUSING HIM OF HURTING THE
ENVIRONMENT WITH HIS SUPPORT OF THE PUBLIC LANDS REMAINING OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AND THE PULLING OF THE FREE DUMP PASSES OF THE BLM.

WE ARE VERY PROUD OF OUR SUPERVISOR AND ARE REQUESTING THAT EVERYONE
WHO FEELS LIKE WE DO TO SEND A LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR HIS CONTINUED
FIRM STANCE AGAINST THE FEDERAL AGENCIES THAT CONTINUE TO CAUSE
GREAT HARM TO OUR COUNTY AND TO INDIVIDUALS FREEDOM TO USE PUBLIC
LANDS. YOU CAN EMAIL YOUR LETTERS OF SUPPORT TO BOB SMITH AT
rsmith@sbcounty.gov
OR YOU MAY FAX THEM DIRECTLY TO THE VICTORVILLE OFFICE AT 760-843-2768.

PUBLIC LAND FOR PUBLIC USE WOULD LIKE TO REMIND EVERYONE THAT SAN
BERNARDINO COUNTY HAS TAKEN THE LEAD FOR ALL USERS AND WITHOUT
SUPERVISOR POSTMUS AND HIS STAFF WE WOULD NOT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE
SUCCESS WE HAVE OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS. WHILE WE HAVE BEEN SO
BUSY REJOICING IN FINALLY HAVING SOMEONE ON OUR SIDE IT IS A VERY
DIFFICULT PLACE FOR THE SUPERVISOR TO BE IN. LET US JUST GIVE HIM A
BIG THANKS FOR EVERTHING HE HAS DONE. AND LET HIM KNOW THAT WE ARE
ALL BEHIND HIM 110% AS HE HAS BEEN FOR US.

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOU HELP IN THIS VERY PRESSING MATTER.

HELP! HELP! HELP!
E-MAILS NEEDED NOW!!!!! JUST TAKES A MINUTE!!!!

The "Bed Fellows" are at it again---------------------
THE BLM AND THE CENTER FOR BIODIVIRSITY (CBD) are after Bill Postmus, First
District Supervisor, San Bernardino County. Bill Postmus stood up for his
people: Ranchers, farmers, miners, property owners, and, yes, us the
recreating public.
He fights for our access to Public Lands. Send e-mails to his assistant, Bob
Smith ( rsmith@sbcounty.gov ) supporting Bill Postmus and his fight for us. We
want him to know he has our support, and to stand firm against the BLM and
CBD. If you recreate anywhere, you need to support Bill Postmus. You don't
need to live here.
Thank You for your help.

Supervisor Postmus/Mr. Smith,

Although I'm not a part of your district, the news has spread that you are fighting for the rights of property owners as well as the continued public use of public lands. I'd like to thank you and your staff for your effort in this matter. The environmental extremists have already trampled upon the rights of millions by keeping the public out of our lands and forcing their will upon property owners. I only fear this battle has just begun. Please keep up the good work, we need more like you!

Wow, I already got a response back, pasted below, probably just a form response but good anyways.

Michael,

Thank you for your support and remarks. I have discussed this with Bill this afternoon and explained your thoughts. He deeply appreciates your compassion for this issue.

here's a link to the page with a map of his district. Stoddard, El Mirage, and a few other OHV areas fall into his district... He's district 1... HIS DISTRICT ALSO BORDERS ON JV AND BIG BEAR - Places I know you guys like to wheel, so a letter might be a little more personal, because if he looses his areas, the rest will follow....

here's my letter:

Supervisor Postmus/Mr. Smith

Hello. My name is Peter S. Di Primo. I writing on behalf of the
www.pirate4x4.com bulletin board's (PBB) 10K+ members, the Ventura County
Axle Snappers 4 Wheel Drive Club (VCAS4WDC), and myself, my family, and
friends.

I would like to thank you for all your past support of private property
rights, as well as your support for Public Access To Public Lands. I know it
takes a great deal of courage and personal drive to stare into the face of
adversity, and for this I commend you and your staff. The time and effort
you and your staff put out for the people you represent is outstanding! I
wish to send my sincerest and heart felt THANKS for all your efforts.

Though I do not reside in your immediate county, my family and I do recreate
all over San Bernardino County on a regular basis, usually at least twice a
month. We have enjoyed the use of Public Lands all over California, and my
experiences in your District have left me and my family with many
pleasurable memories that we will cherish for years to come. We look forward
to many more pleasurable experiences your district will bring us in the
future.

I think I can speak for the entire Multiple Use community when I say "We
NEED more people like YOU and YOUR STAFF on the Public's side, people who
are not willing to fold to the pressure of the environmental extremists
groups!"

Again, a sincere Thank You for all your past efforts as well as all the
support you are continuing to give the Multiple Use community.

Also if there's anything I can do, please DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK! Myself,
The PBB, and The VCAS4WDC are willing to help in anyway we can. Please add
my address to any mailing list(s) you feel it would benefit me to be on. I
will forward all info to my mailing lists, as well as post it on several
internet bulletin boards and e-mail forums. We can write letters, make phone
calls, attend meetings, and help with trail maintenance. Basically we will
do whatever is needed to preserve our access to Public Lands!

Sincerely,
Peter S. Di Primo

Now here is a good question. How many people see these things and say man I can't write a letter/email good enough to get their attention? Well does it really matter how good it is as long as there are lots and lots and lots flowing in from all kinds of sources to keep the support there? It seems to me that may be the hardest part of this whole thing. I can't write well, as obvious by my posts... :flipoff2: but I can at least try!

This is an easy letter to write. He is on our side. Just thank him for having a backbone. Fighting for access to public lands is not always easy, and his actions do not go unnoticed.
