: Thinking about bolting front M/L shut

I am running the TT YJ kit Front and Rear on my Sammi, and I have noticed that on the highway it wanders a bit and the steering is pretty sloppy, and I was wondering if any one out there in Pirate Land has experienced this? and do any of you out there think I could just bolt my M/L closed for Highway use to tighten the front end up a bit? I am also considering just taking a bite of the bullet and just putting a track bar on the front, but the bolts and the holes for the M/L would be much faster and cheaper for now :D

you should see what I did to tighten mine up and return it to stock steering. I've got 11" suspension lift and 7 more from the tire size increase. It steers just as easily and accurately as stock. if you email me, I can send you some pics if you're interested. mine is a 2 link suspension. 1 link is the trackbar, and the other is similar to how a unimog's axle's hang on. I'm not even done building it and I've already got 32" of travel measured at the front when the rear wasn't even flexing. I figure I'll get about 6 feet of travel total when I'm done. with no binding of anything. It's on fullsize chevy's with rear steering and 39.5" IROKS radials.
jd
by the way, what exactly is M/L? multi-link? so you wanna bolt it down so it doesn't give all the extra play? probably will work, but you need to do something about the drag link and tie rod not being parallel anymore. They need to be parallel or you'll just be pulling up and down on the tie rod instead of right and left. especially when you get articulated. I can send some diagrams, too of why this is.:D :smokin: :smokin:

M/L is Missing Link.....basically a shackle that extends to let the leaves drop down, giving more flex

If you're running trail tough's missing links they have poly bushings in them and I doubt that is were your problem is coming from. Check everything under your rig for looseness/play. It could be a number of things from bad rubber leaf spring bushings to shitty wide tires that are out of alignment or cupped. Good luck.

I have run the TT YJ for more than two years no problems. I went with Jeep springs and super flex then I over loaded the vehicle and caused it to occilate frt to rear corner on the freeway. Changed to a stiffer spring problem solved. Experimented with a panhard bar on the frt from spidertrax great unit but don't need it, for sale in original box if you think you need it PM me. Check your spring U bolts

yeah i run Trail Tough's kit as well with missing links front and rear. I replaced the bushings while I did my SPOA. It handles great on the street. I have high steer as well, which helps out big time. I really like how it works and handles though.
