Is it possible to mate a 700R4 tranny to a D300 transcase? I've been looking for a way to do a search but I can't find a way to do it... I read somewhere that you could mate the tranny and transcase using a np208 adaptor? Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Check Novak adapters and Advanced adapters... You will run into problems with your t-case hanging down really far. Clocking the dana 300 is possible but will take some creativity to clear the front drive shaft.

This is not a great combo because of front driveshaft clearance issues with the 700r4/4l60e pan. Some have ground the pan flange down to improve it but even then your shaft diameter is limited and you would certainly be in a bind if you wanted to run some beefy 1350 or 1410 sized CV joints. Others have gone with a two piece front shaft with a pillow block intermediate support bearing, this system can work well but requires additional material cost and fabrication, it also will likely interfere with a V-8 pass side exhaust head pipe.
My friend bought the Novak kit but after we bolted it up and mocked up the driveshaft we pulled the D300 and installed a NP241 (can be had in drivers or passenger drops) which buys you a bunch of clearance and requires no adapter to work with the 700r4/4l60e as long as you get a 27spline (1/2 ton) case.

700R4 & D300 combo in my CJ7 works just fine.
I'm running outboarded front springs with a LP D44, and a small diameter front driveshaft with 1310 u-joints.
No need for a high dollar Novak or AA adapter either.

27 spline 700r doesn't match to a 23 spline dana 300.would need atleast a new input for the 300 from AA.This conversion does work and is pretty popular .i like the 999 myself but i don't need an overdrive.

That seems to be the key, getting the pinion further outboard and running a smaller shaft. As long as you don't want to go real big it can be done. Still crappy clearance.
