What t-cases match up with the C5? Any with low crawl ratio?

BW 1350 and BW1354 are the only two stock t-cases that will mate to a stock C5.

You can get an Atlas 2 that will replace either of those cases.

If you want a better t-case (and you should)...

Get a hold of a 4wd C4 tranny and a C5 (2wd or 4wd). Then swap the bellhousings.

Then you can bolt the tranny to the motor and the D20 to the tranny and be set.

You could also put the C4 output shaft and 4wd adapter in/on the C5 and then bolt the D20 to it.

***Edited to say that the C5 with the bolt pattern you are after only came in 84-85 Rangers and Bronco IIs with the 2.8L motor. Also beware, because in the first half of 84, some of those trannies were C3s which are total pieces of junk)***

dont the C5's have a problem with the torque converter blowing up or some crap like that? (oiling problems maybe??) I remember a freind of mine had one, and when he had to get it rebuilt, the shop converted it to a C4 for longevity purposes??

The only difference between a C5 and C4 is the valve body and yes it can be converted to a C4 valve body. As far the TQ goes never heard of problems with them.....

he's right, the c-5 stock has a locking torque converter, and they did have a tendency to fail.

Just use the tail shaft, bellhousing, and tail housing out of the c-5. Use all c-4 internals. and if you want more clutches and a better valve body, use stuff out of a pinto. Yes the pintos have more clutches in the baskets.
