: How good is hydro assist?

Okay. All kinds of threads about how to hook it up. I want to know how strong it is. Right now I have the saginaw box with a Chevy pump, but I also run hydro-boost brakes off the system. To keep it all cool, I run a huge tranny cooler (it works GREAT) and no more over heats.

Anyway, would slamming on a hyro ram as an assist almost make up for the welded front end and 39.5's?

Usually, I would wait for more input, but this is enough. I'll do it :D :D :D

That means I have to do the hydro assist, tube the front, put on TBI and throw in the doubler. KEWL!!

So basically, I just need the fittings a box (I'll get one from the wrecker and rebuild it and tap it) some fittings, hose and a ram that's about 2" and has an 8" throw. This almost sounds too easy

If I were you I would invest in a bigger steering pump, or get a second one for the brakes... with the single pump running everything, it will be pretty strung out.

I agree, Hydro Assist has made my life much easier :)

I'm running PS, hydro-boost brakes, and hydro assist. Worked fine. I've only had it out with the hydro assist one time but I LOVED it.

I love mine. Very rarely have an issue with the slow pump (mostly when parking), even tho I have a 2x6 attached to the tiny YJ pump. I did slot the end of the valve thingy in the pump.
