4.3 Swap question before going to smog ref [Archive]

Ok so swap is pretty much done in my '85 CJ7. It now has a '97 4.3 Vortec that runs great. My problem is that it is throwing a check engine light solely because I used the Jeep's T-5 to later be swapped to 700R4. It says there is problems with tranny because there is no 4L60E any more. Is there a way to have the computer reprogrammed with the manual tranny? If not I suppose I'll have to get a new computer for it to shut it off. I'm set to go to the smog referee but would like to have no check engine light on. I'm not even sure if they'll pass it for that reason alone.

get ahold of Jim at jimsperformance.com. He can reprogram your computer to work with the manual transmission. He's a great guy - really knows his stuff.
