...if you redrilled the spring pin to get the same 2" offset to lengthen the wheelbase? good idea? yes, no?

bad idea. will break where you drill the hole. why BDS? why not just step up and buy the 44044's? does BDS make a 2.5 lift waggy spring? if they do, why not run them? anyone? i personally run the 44044s cause i've seen them in action....................:D

because they cost twice as much :D BDS doesn't have a 2.5" waggy lift spring but they have 2" YJ leaf spring. BDS has a 4" waggy leaf spring (which would be almost 6" on a YJ).

two 4" BDS waggys. $132
one 44044 $123
I forget how much the YJ BDSs are but they are less than the 4" waggys.

And BDS has one hell of a warranty.

My 2" YJ BDS springs cost around $60 I think. Anyway, I just recently swapped out the ones in the rear in favor of 7 leaf front Waggy's straight out of the boneyard and the Waggy's raised the rear about a 1/4" over the 2" BDS's. This is an SOA configuration btw. I have pics, just need to scan them.

I'm currently have 44044's in the rear and BDS YJ 3.5's in the front, the 2" are only 3 leaf and look super wimpy, as soon as I scrape the $ together I'm gettin 44044's for front too.

So Eric, what plans do you have for your BDS's? I'm looking for springs on the front of my CJ6 and am using the same Waggie fronts on the rear. BTW, I'm CSP on the Colorado board.

and that includes a spare to get you out if they go south? don't get me wrong BDS springs are probably very good, maybe better than my 44044s. but i haven't bent one yet and i know re-drilling the center pin will usually make it break(i've seen it happen).:p

just run the BDS springs and make a 2" offset plate. done deal:beer:

Actually yes, the BDS springs are military wrapped :flipoff2:

CMEgroup, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them just yet. If you're interested in them shoot me a PM on CO4x4 and we'll chat about it. I've had them a year but they only left the garage for about a week  :flipoff2:
