: A few questions, please pardon my ignorance...

Since I'm new to the world on Roverdom (not new to wheelin' though) I've got a few questions for ya'll. I figured you guys would be better at answering these questions without the "your wanting to do what? Not use OEM parts for a Rover?" snobbery. In my Bronco I've changed out my alternater to a 3g, producing more power as well as running inline dual redtops with a relay and circuit switch. I'd like to do the same with the RRC, what alternators should I be looking at since I can't seem to find one that has a higher output that is made aftermarket for a Rover and that doesn't cost as much a house payment. Also I'd like to change out the Rover steering box and power steering pump for something that is more reliable and is not as prone to leakage... What parts from what other vehicles could be a match? Last noob question: Anyone come across a "Shelf-it" that fits the RRC or one that can be modified that looks proper inside? I have on in my Bronco and it houses my stereo and CB and is great. I'd like to use the area that the stereo is currently in the construct a custom gauge pod for actual temp and oil pressure....

Contact Pendy for alternators, he has a high current one that works well and is fairly easy to retrofit. IIRC, it's also cheaper than some of the other options available.

Oh yeah, go to Discoweb to look for this fawker, this isn't serious enough for Pirate :flipoff2:

Thanks. I would have put this on Discoweb, but thought it might be over the heads of most over there.

Plus your ole' lady said thatI'd get more help here..when her mouth was free that is.:flipoff2:

You stepped over the line there buddy. Don't do it again. I find it curious that someone who comes looking for help and gets it responds in this fashion. I wouldn't expect a whole lot of help from this site if you keep this shit up.

My apologies then, it seems to me that someone looking for help would also be able to get a straight answer and not a smart alleck remark. I made the assumption that everyone in this forum had the same type of sense of humor that I have, so If offense was taken, I apologize, it was not meant as pure insult, instead it was more of a "you've made a smart ass remark, here's mine" kinda thing.

damn pt who pissed in your wheaties. Alternator you can use anyone just make a bracket. If you don't have the skills Pendy would be a good source. On using a different pump a generic sagnaw pump will work fine. As for the box don't know any easy retrofits. Most people just get their boxes rebuilt and modified by westtexas or psc ect. I have no idea what you are talking about in the last question but it sound discowebish. I would not have been offended at all by your comment it would have made me chuckle. Paul is a vagabond hippy that must have had to chase off more steal thieves last night

In Paul's defense if someone that I wasn't familiar with came on here telling dirty jokes about MY wife I'd react the same way. When among friends... i'll laugh. But on a public internet forum by somebody you dont know? Not going to take it lightly.

Hence the reason why I apologized. Now, in my defense, I have no clue if dude is married, has a girlfriend, or boyfriend  (I'm assuming after the reaction that he's straight), therefore I would not know what his reaction would be. My bro's and me joke like that all the time, and I assumed that this was a forum that shared my sense of humor (apparently I was wrong) so I made the joke (in bad taste). I apollogized, he accepted, end of story. Let's get on to the tech discussions....:flipoff2:

He does not have a sense of humor when it comes to Beth. She keeps him on a tight lease since he tried to escape to Oregan this year.

Many alternators have been substituted in your truck. I can sell you one but if you do some more searching you will find something for less.

Per the pre-nup, she's vested in February:flipoff2:

She'll probably dump me the day afterour anniversary and force me to sell the remaining real estate.

Do you suppose she'll leave me with the Rovers?

I don't know, I like the idea of hunting down where they live and treat their car's paint job to a treatment of lighter fluid.
