I was under the impression (and I don't know for sure), that forced articulation was forcing the suspension to twist rather than allowing gravity/droop to do the job. Furthermore, on vehicles like the Scorpion (do a search on the web for "Scorpion Tactical Vehicle', and you'll get a lot of info), when, say, the right front tire droops into a hole, (via unknown methods) it 'forces' the left rear tire up into the wheel well, lowering the COG and twisting the vehicle to maximize traction.

I'm not 100% sure about this, tho.
