homemade bender dies

could it be possible to make aluminum dies that would work for large tube?

i was thinking of maybe casting them. would the aluminum just crush or break from the force?

You can use aluminum dies , but they need to be high quality.. our Mittler Bros. air over hydraulic bender at work uses aluminum die and follower , works great. The heaviest stuff we do is 1 5/8" .120" wall.

I doubt that a home cast die will hold up very well at all.
