my ZF5 started "tinking" when climbing hills on the freeway with the trailer behind it...it would stop when I let out of the throttle..

I changed the fluid and it got a little better..but still does it...

syncro's clickin when loaded??

bad bearing??

anybody have any ideas??

other than that..she doesnt make a sound...great tranny..:grinpimp:

Big Block? Small Block? Diesel? S-420? S-470?
Sounds like 5th gear bearing to me, they are THE issue in those trannies.
Don't wait to get it fixed, when the bearing goes it wallows out the aluminum and ruins the back half of the tranny case!

sorry..460..ok..its gonna get pulled in a bit when she goes in for cosmetic surgery...the seats are saggy..and the front end needs new fenders...and a paintjob...

oh...and when the truck goes in for work too...:laughing:
