Bondobob 10-09-2006, 10:23 AM I'm putting together a hydro assist for my jeep and ran across a steal on a 1.5" X 1" x 8" ram with the heim joints. Is the 1" rod diameter going to be to big or will that effect it much? I'm trying to stay with a smaller ram so I don't lose to much steering response. microtus 10-09-2006, 03:37 PM 1 1/2" is the bore size which should be the deciding factor on steering response not the 1" shaft. 1 1/2" is fine for hydro assist unless perhaps you are running huge tires.
