In a '97 F350 PSD. Tranny shops (dealer also) want $190 to completely drain tranny and torque converter:eek:
Anyone got a tip on how to find the drain for the torque converter on this tranny?
pull the rubber plug on the bottom of the bell housing. Rotate the
crankshaft untill you see a plug with a 7/16" head. Remove it.
Ta Da!:)

Thanks zags:) Sounds simple enough but I have one Q.
How do you rotate the crank on a 20:1 compression engine (a powerstroke)?
Should I just tap the key to turn it over or...?
you can jumper the starter to "bump" it around while watching the hole( jump from the little wire to the big stud farthest from the starter motor). They make a remote starter switch for this. Or you can use a BIG breaker bar on the crank bolt
