well im all done with my 460 swap cept for a few small things. well i was given the adapter so i said i might as well use it. well i get the vice grips on the threads of the old threaded part in the block and try to get it out, its not going. so i commit myself to it and tighten the vice grips more. now im done. it wont come out and the threads are fucked. so i knotch it a little so i can put a piece of steel through it and try to turn that. well one side of the knotch just ripped off. now im really fucked. guess i will have to grind it flat, then drill it out and tap it. wehat the fuck happened, i cant figure out how somthing soaked in oil could get so tight
Some of the adaptors ford used had a hex on it to get a large socket on it to drive it out. Others like the 240/300 six didn't. just had the threaded piece screwed into the block for the Filter to thread onto. I have no Idea what Ford used on these to keep them in the block, but they are held in with something far stronger than loctite.
Best of luck.

My factory remote oil filter adapter had the fitting with a large hex on the OD and the replacement fitting I got from Ford to go back to a stock oil filter had an internal hex for a large allen wrench. I used a hex punch with a wrench on it to thread that one in.
drilled it out and tapped it. had no probs went smoothly. of coarse after all this the stock ford relocater didnt relocate it to were i need so i am putting a remote dual filter jobbie on, well at least its done
