Gear Ratio R1 Ratio R2
First 3.72 3.90
Second 2.20 2.25
Third 1.50 1.50
Fourth 1.00 1.00
Fifth .79 .80
Reverse 3.40 3.41

thats out of a ford manual so looks like maybe 2 different ratios available

their tech library probably has what you need for that.

4cyl R1 is:
3.72:1
2.20:1
1.50:1
1.00:1
0.79:1
3.40:1(R)

R2 wasn't used in Rangers. Why its included there I can't figure out. instead they failed to show the R1 4.0L ratios.

FWIW:
3.40:1
2.05:1
1.31:1
1.00:1
0.79:1
3.40:1(R)

2.3L/3.0L gearsets can easily be put in a 4.0L trans case for a bit better crawl ratio.

Do you mean the Transmission, or the Transfercase gears?

I am entertaining the idea of putting a Turbo 2.3 in my ranger, and doing a SAS at the same time.

I just need to figure out the transmission and tcase.

AND if a doubler of some sort will fit.:D

The M5OD transmission gears.

If your truck originally had a 2.3, then you'll already have the deeper trans gearing.

Two t-case doubler options:
