well i guess ill make this my "build up" thread like everyone else and their mother :flipoff2:
its an 88 k5 350tbi/700r4/208 10b's with 3.73s.
bought it with 3" lift and 35s (no pics tho)
then bought an 8" BDS springs and raised steering arm and drop drag link. first pic is with 8" and 35's.
last summer i acquired 3/4ton '76 d44 and 14b with 4.10s. thought i was going to be able to just drop them in, but they needed to be rebuilt. i had to use the bfh to get the drums off the 14b, good excuse to go with disc's. since i was going to need to rebuild them i decided to just regear at the same time. i also got the knuckle machined for cross-over. i ended up just gearing the 10b instead of the d44 cuz it was external style. so i got both axles geared with 5.13s and detroit in the 14b. before i got the 10b reassembled i found a d60 for a decent price so i jumped on that, and parted out the 10b. then geared the d60 and got a detroit. same time bought all the stuff for cross-over and then decided to go with rock-logic hydro assist and alsodid the pump mods...it never ends. at the same time i got a set of dry rotted 42's, so i sold my 35's. same time i put on zero-rates to offset the front end out 1.5".
this summer i decided to swap in lifted 64's and a home made shackle flip to give some more flex. i moved both the front hanger at the same time, so the rear axle was only moved back 2.5" instead of the typical 6". i also bought some 39.5" Iroks. i also did the '91 front clip swap and i love it.
future plans:
i have bought a 4L80E, 203 and 205...i think you can guess where thats going:shaking: ...doubler with triple stick...this shit never ends. so that will cost some money to put together, hopefully ill have that done while on winter break (december). at the same time, im planning on swapping in a 6.2 for mpg reason, its my main daily driver, and im trying to do what most people try to do...make the "ultimate rig" to me thats a street-legal monster that wont hesitate when most things are thrown at it. next summer im planning on also swapping in lifted 56" springs up front. as well as HAD driveshafts. also tube bumpers, winch, and a somewhat simple cage (dont want it too crazy since im going to be driving it all the time, something is better than nothing),
anyways enough of that, to some progress pics thus far...
