I just put a dana 60 and hydro steering under my cj5. I used the stock GM 350 pump and a Eaton Char Lynn valve from a Clark forklift. The system works but is not right, it's hard to turn. The valve part # 2434008001 has 4 holes on top and one on the side (maybe load reactive?). Not sure what to do with the 5th hose. I also have the distribution block form the forklift Eaton Char Lynn# enz1027...6061232002 ?? I first tried just the valve, not right. I then tried to plumb it like it was on the forklift with the block, still not right.
seems to be foam in the power steering pump. do I need to and a resivoir tank?
does anyone know where to get a picture of where the hoses go for sure?
do I need the dist block?
I have some pics of the parts , but need to figure out how to post them.
basic way I have it set up:
1 hi pressure hose from power steer to dist block
two hoses tee'd together ( forklift steer and mast) going to high side orbit valve
left and right from valve to cylinder
low return from valve to dist block
5th line off side of valve to dist block, the same as it was on forklift ???
low return line from dist block to power steering.
