So I got my girlfriend a hardtop at the junkyard for free, then I fixed it up and now its just about time to put it on the jeep only problem is I don't have any kind of hardware for it. I know that I can just use some nice bolts, nuts, and washers for the part where the top meets the tub but what can I do to attach the front lip of the hardtop to the front windshield frame? This needs to be safe as she commutes to school with her jeep and I also don't want to buy any aftermarket hardware.

On the windshield side they just use self tappers through the windshield.

You don't need anything on the windshield (some tops are missing that rail, or do not have the front windshield rail). I have run my top for 8 years with four bolts-one on each corner in the back-thats it...

Put down some "removable caulking" and some sheet metal screws if needed; but my top is water tight with 4 bolts.

Check in your catalogs (quadratec ect...)-they also offer quick disconnect kits that use clasps for securing the top and take less than one minute to remove.
