: XRRA @ Paragon Adventure Park Oct 21st

XRRA
10-12-2006, 07:18 AM
The Xtreme Rock Race at Paragon Adventure Park October 21st has not been canceled. It is going to be a light field of Teams due to timing, many Teams are going to SEMA and or Worlds and are unable to risk their rigs or take more time off of work. The XRRA and the Teams of the west are looking forward to our trip east and getting a chance to meet you all and race some new terrain. We have had a large number of calls from spectators and it sounds like there should be good turnout. (Someone please turn off the rain for the day) If there are more teams interested in running please let me know, also the entry fee for this event has been reduced to $175.00. This is going to be a great trip. :)

Thanks to all,

Weaver

Mike,

This is awesome to hear! I know a lot of fans have been asking me and it's good to have the offical word.

I will be flying in to cover it for FlexOnThis.com (http://flexonthis.com) and I am excited to see how the west guys handle the steep wet rocks at Paragon. This should be an awesome event, hopefully our coverage can do it justice.

Great to hear. I was looking forward to it and was kinda dissapointed at the possibility of it being cancelled. As long as the event is put on CRAWL wil be there.

Looks like I'll most likely be making it. Looking forward to it---east coast guys don't be afraid to sign up..... remember XRRA is "run whatcha brung" kinda event, there's everything from full bodied jeeps to 2 seat rock racers and moon buggies.. Rock racing is intense, if you're within a 10 hour radius there is no excuse for not showing up :flipoff2: See you guys out there!

Yes it was the final event for points... The XRRA event at Paragon is more of an exhibition race so east coasters can get a feel for what's going down next season on the right coast. :D

Is anyone going to do updates through the race tomorrow?

I hope you lucky bastards that are there will post up updates and photos.

Sorry if you guys here on Pirate kill my server lookin at the pics, but I am upgrading TruckPorn line speed here soon. Please bare with me and enjoy !

****SNIP******

Well I am sitting here in my Comfort Inn room swiggin sum Jack and Coke and thought I would

upload some pics before heading off with Muchado to PARTY it up.

Met alot of cool people though I was in pain (knee for some reason) so I wasn't super social... climbing up and down those rocks to get pics was a CHORE that killed my knee. I am sure when we all get together in the hotel resturaunt I will get a chance to be MORE GLENNY with the folks I met today.

The event was the first of it's kind here on the East Coast, so it was small but FUN. After the event we did a little wheeling at the wall which was just the coolest thing I have seen. These damn rock buggies tore it up after the races (which were equally fun to see).... I wanna build one now !

hehehe so here is a taste of the pics I have.... I need to grab my pics off another memory card

I borrowed and then compress my vids as well tomorrow sometime.

ENJOY !

All Pics are here:

You had me crackin up the whole night Rob, all you guys are fun as hell to hang out with. The Saturday night bar-hopping was an adventure, to say the least. And I learned to ignore whenever someone said "JT", cause they usually meant JT Taylor, not me:D

I'd like to thank Mike and all the XRRA guys and gals for giving us east coasters a chance to see Rock Racing first hand and for giving me the opportunity to come out and Judge for this event. It was a blast.

We just got back from our East coast adventure and can not begin to tell everyone how much we enjoyed meeting you all. Would like to say a big THANKS to Kyle and his wife at Paragon AP, the volunteers that came out to help run the event, and of course the Drivers who make it all happen. The moonbuggy vs. moonbuggy races were awesome, and watching Eric on 35" tires and a manual get around the courses was a hoot, that boy can drive! The event was a lot of fun and the location for us treeless westerners could not have been better.

Can't wait til 2007 for a full season of Xtreme Rock Racing East.

Thanks ALL

P.S. Not sure what we were thinking letting JT follow us out there, hope you let us come back.LOL:D
