Got a 99 ranger that the tranny just shit the bed in. (5r55e) It's gonna cost me900 to rebuild it or switch to a standard(m5odr1?).
Now I know that any tranny from a 2.8/2.9/4.0 will fit but what about flywheels/clutches/starters etc? What will be the best option for me? What will I need to do the swap? I like the ease of just pulling it, rebuilding it, and throwing it back in. but with my plans will it just go again?

Btw the truck will be sporting a 4" lift an 33" boggers. Used for trail and dd duties.
