Im gonna get the one from home depot, its model number HS7810. Its like 800 bucks but its pretty quiet and has good flow numbers.
Craftsman ones are loud.

The oilless ones from Craftsman are junk, they wont even hardly run the smallest of air tools. My old one did last through 5 years of abuse though. I have a Craftsman "Pro" 2 cylinder "oil" model now and its much better, not too bad for the price anyway. Also, the oilless models are LOUD!

The "oilless" models don't have near the durability that the "oilled" models have. I have a 1 hp Craftsman (made by Campbell Hausfeld I believe) that is 25 years old now, and the only maintenance I've ever needed to do to it is clean the intake filter, change the oil, and I had to replace the belt ONE time.
I have a Farmhand (Campbell Hausfeld sold by Tractor Supply) that is the same as the Model VT6314 $429.00 from Home Depot that has given me good service. Unless you have some really big air requirements this should do most hobbiest users a good job. It delivers 10.2 CFM at 90 PSI.
